Directions

From highway 255 (270) exit onto Telegraph Rd and turn North. Drive almost exactly 3.0 miles to the park entrance on the right, do not veer left when Telegraph Rd. deviates to the left. Stay straight and the road will transition into Kingston Dr. After you have traveled 3.0 miles from the highway, you will see Jefferson Barracks County Park entrance on the right. Enter here, pass through the stone gate, and make the first (Gark Rd.) or second (CCC Rd) left to get to the encampments.

There is plenty of free parking is available.

Parking

Parking is available for the vehicle owners in four separate locations, one at the far North side of the park (above the old camp) and three south of the new camp areas.  View the map and look for the purple areas.

You are able to have your vehicle near the camps to unload but you must park your non-period vehicles in one of the designated reenactor parking lots once your set-up is complete.

All non-period vehicles must be cleared from the camp by 10:30 PM Friday night (unless you are arriving at that hour).

All reenactor non-period vehicles must be parked in designated reenactor parking areas.  If your vehicle is parked in a designated public parking area after 10:30 PM on Friday or Saturday night it will be towed at your expense.

Use the map below as a reference for the best paths into the camp area.

Porta-potties will also be placed at random locations throughout the cap area.

Vendors

There will be vendors selling various food products and militaria at the visitor’s center at the North end of the camp (look for the green area at the top).

Vendors will be open Saturday and Sunday.

The Dance

A WWII Canteen Dance will be held at Grant's shelter on Saturday night. Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery borders the park to the south. The Friends of Jefferson Barracks will be hosting the dance as well as a dinner prior to the dance. A nominal charge will be required for dinner and we encourage you to donate in addition to that charge. In addition, inside tables, at the Dance are $80 per table or $10 per ticket (8 per table).  No inside tables are automatically reserved for reenactors.  Contact Friends of Jefferson Barracks directly for table reservations using the number below.

Please contact Friends of Jefferson Barracks directly for tickets at (314) 544-5714; the 2nd Rangers do not sell tickets for the dance.

Restrictions

Only period correct vehicles are permitted.

If you are unsure if your vehicle is period correct contact the Event Coordinator, Kevin Owens.

Set-up

Set-up will take place the entire week prior to the actual event. Any camp set-up earlier than Friday requires authorization from our President Kevin Owens ( ).

Registration

All vehicle owners are required to register - online or in person. Online is preferred. If you're reading this, go register now.

Online Event Registration (preferred method)

You must register for the event and register your vehicle (there is a special section on the registration form). If you do not do this prior to the event you will be required to register before you're allowed to enter the park.

Multiple Vehicle Registration

If you have more than one (1) vehicle to register please use the Multiple Vehicle Registration Form. Even if you fill this out you still have to register for the event itself.

In Person Registration

If in person, please register as early as possible on Friday night or Saturday morning.

Additional Information

Upon registration you will receive an identification card that you must have on you at all times. This card will be checked throughout the weekend and will be your passage onto the battlefield if you are using your vehicle in the battle.

If your card is not checked prior to a battle then you will have to sit the battle out.  If you don't have a card at the battle field you will not be able to participate.

If you register online please print your confirmation form and bring a copy of it to the registration desk - there will be someone dedicated to online registrations to ensure you are processed quickly.  We strongly encourage online registration.

As a vehicle owner you must also register your vehicle in order to receive a tax donation receipt, which allows you to get a deduction on your taxes for the cost to bring your vehicle to the event and home again.

Event Safety

All vehicles will be required to have an ABC or BC fire extinguisher, proof of insurance, and passed a safety inspection.

If you allow people on your vehicles it is your responsibility to be at the vehicle monitoring the visitors.

If you do not want people on your vehicles please bring an appropriate rope set up and a DO NOT TOUCH sign.

Safety & Authenticity Meeting

Everyone that plans on being in WWII Weekend will go through a Safety and Authenticity check. This is mandatory. Please have your reenactor identification card with you at all times including at the safety and authenticity check and any and all battles. Your reenactor identification card will be issued upon successful registration.

MPs will do random spot checks for your registration card.

Any reenactors declining a safety and authenticity check will be asked to leave the encampment and/or battlefield.

Authenticity

All items must be period correct. That includes your uniform, hair style, accessories (glasses are the exception), vehicles, weapons, et. al. This also includes if you have anyone inside of your displays or in your vehicles.

If you have questions contact Kevin Owens, the Event Coordinator, and request a review of your questionable item.

During WWII they did not have cell phones, slurpies, plastic trash bags, nylon chairs or other stuff like that so keep up the correct appearance all weekend.

Reenactors are required to conform to the uniform and equipment standards of the impression they are portraying. Your participation in this event is dependent on looking right. We will be looking especially for bad hair cuts. At recent events haircuts have been provided at inspection and no they did not look good so be prepared ahead of time. Off the collars and ears. Long hair will not be tolerated. This is a public battle so be sure your uniform is correct and in good condition. If it is worn, faded or torn get a new one.

The Rangers will recruit safety and authenticity representatives from the other nationalities to inspect their ranks. Be warned if one of your members is farby it will reflect on your entire unit. Do not let it get that far. Look right ahead of time.

Donations

As a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization, the 2nd Rangers is able to function due to the generous donations of the public and reenactors.

To facilitate on-site donations we will have preprinted envelopes throughout the camp and at the battlefield where you can write your mailing or e-mail address and insert your donation.

The week following the event you will receive a tax-donation receipt for the amount you donated.

If you would rather donate via credit card, or via other means, please access our Donation page.

Tax Deductions

As a not-for-profit we are unable to provide monetary stipends to help pay for your travel costs, but we are able to issue you a tax-deduction receipt for your gas, mileage, accommodations, trailer costs, driver costs, and more.

Just add up all of your costs on the way to the event and when you get to the event get a tax-deduction receipt from the registration desk, write down your costs on individual lines (gas/fuel, on one line, accommodations on another line, trailer rental on another line, etc.) – remember to double things like fuel for the trip home and once you have it completed take it to the President, Kevin Owens, at the event.  He’ll sign it so it is valid for the US Government and take a photo for our records.

It is encouraged that you complete your paperwork on Saturday and bring it to Kevin either Sunday morning or Sunday during break-down and clean-up.
